Recorded in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Shrewsbury and the
famous Smecky sound stage in Prague with The City of Prague Symphony Orchestra,
Caledon bring a whole new dimension to Scots song, full orchestra and chorus
(The Caradoc Chorus) blending seamlessly with pipes and drums, and celtic
instrumentalists - and three of the finest voices in Scotland. From the hush of
a Jacobite lament to the swagger of a Celtic rock anthem, we bring you 'The
Power and The Passion'. It's been
a great pleasure and a challenge to try and write fresh, contemporary
arrangements of these jewels from the Scots songbook. Taking our theme of 'The
Power and The Passion' you'll hear songs like 'The Braes O' Balquhidder' and
'Dumbarton's Drums' in a way they've never been done before, think filmscore,
think widescreen and we hope you'll find that these tracks really do make the
hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Listen to 'Land O' Heart's Desire' and
be transported to an exotic dreamscape, 'Sailing' to the seven seas....
